They say we’re running.
Maybe from the faceless cities of the East. But more likely from ourselves. From the thought that our lot has been cast. From the thought that we are who we are.
So what do we write of?
Between these covers you’ll find a vision of a new home on the sea, together with pagan love in the rainforest. But also a pre-suicide missive and a space cadet running from her mandatory meds.
This is of course the nature of Lotusland.
Heaven and hell.
And everything in between.
Once again, ¡HASTINGS! features a community based on Hastings Street, the grittiest neighbourhood in all of Lotusland. This time it’s the 2019 cohort of The Writer’s Studio, SFU’s one-year creative writing program.
